I have had my November page finished for several weeks, but October is still a WIP. Why is that you may ask..... good question??? I was excited with the plan for my October page, purchased new beads, drew out the design and started right off. After a few hours I realized that working with size 13 & 15 beads might just be a little outside my experience level, then frustration and disappointment set in and I set it aside for a few days, then a few more and then it was November and I had a great idea for Veterans Day and I was excited again and I worked on November. So now it is December and October is still hanging over my head.....
Here is my November page a tribute to Veterans of all the wars past and present.

This is the poem that inspired me to start on the October project:
The Oak Tree
A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the oak tree’s leaves away,
then snapped its boughs
and pulled its bark
until the oak was tired and stark.
But still the oak tree held its ground
while other trees fell all around.
The weary wind gave up and spoke,
“How can you still be standing, Oak?”
The oak tree said, “I know that you
can break each branch of mine in two,
carry every leaf away,
shake my limbs, and make me sway.
But I have roots stretched in the earth,
growing stronger since my birth.
You’ll never touch them, for you see,
they are the deepest part of me.
Until today, I wasn’t sure
of just how much I could endure.
But now I’ve found, with thanks to you,
I’m stronger than I ever knew.”

and here is my in progress October..... the leaf outline are size 13 beads and for fill is size 15

I think my problem with all of my pages is that I'm trying to use too many beads and nothing lies flat. The tiny 15 beads are so small I am having trouble getting the needle through the bead more than once. I'm using a size 13 needle and D thread, is there something smaller? At this moment I'm thinking glue might be a good solution.
